This is the same experience many have had with RH. I recommend Elizabeth Friendship's "Pattern Cutting for Men's Costume." The added benefit for buying the book is that you can use it to make patterns for many periods and articles of clothing. The Modern Reenactorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03906161348054545699noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3641374646540797540.post-90148305950801898732016-05-22T15:23:27.032-07:002016-05-22T15:23:27.032-07:00http://www.amazon.com/1740s-Frock-Coat-Pirates-Pat...http://www.amazon.com/1740s-Frock-Coat-Pirates-Pattern/dp/B004WLIUEQ/ref=lp_8913660011_1_13?srs=8913660011&ie=UTF8&qid=1463955467&sr=8-13Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3641374646540797540.post-57976441261095080742016-05-07T19:36:58.646-07:002016-05-07T19:36:58.646-07:00I found Suzanne Gousse's patterns to be the be...I found Suzanne Gousse's patterns to be the best for 1750s clothing (regardless if you're doing a French soldier's portrayal or just a civilian). You can then make minor alterations (beyond tailoring it to you) to suit the earlier styles. I'm not sure the jusaucorps could be altered for the 1680s, but it definitely works for the 1710s.The Modern Reenactorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03906161348054545699noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3641374646540797540.post-80804581208547815872016-05-05T14:22:27.673-07:002016-05-05T14:22:27.673-07:00Fascinating.
